AMT是在传统的手动齿轮式变速器基础上改善而来的;它揉合了AT和MT两者利益的机电液一体化主动变速器;AMT既具有一般主动变速器主动变速的利益,又保留了原手动变速器齿轮传动的效率高、成本低、结构简略、易制作的利益。它是在现手动变速器上进行改造的,保留了绝大部分原总成部件,只改动其间手动操作系统的换档杆部分,出产继承性好,改造的投入费用少,十分简单被出产厂家承受。


驾驭员经过加快踏板和操纵杆向电子操控单元(ECU)传递操控信号;电子操控单元收集发动机 转速传感器、车速传感器等信号,时间掌握着车辆的行进状况;电子操控单元(ECU)依据这些信号按存储于其间的最佳程序,最佳换档规则、聚散器含糊操控规则、发动机供油自适应调理规则等,对发动机供油、聚散器 的别离与结合、变速器换档三者的动作与时序完成最佳匹配。然后取得优秀的燃油经济性与动力功能以及平稳起步与敏捷换档的才能,以到达驾驭员所希望的成果。

不过AMT变速箱并非完美的,AMT变速箱最大的缺陷便是换挡舒适型欠安,且在换挡过程中发生动力中止,使得换挡过程中极速功能欠好。
